Writing by

Nimhue Willow

I like to write when the world is quiet. Listening to the voices in my head and heart, cup of tea in hand, I scrawl my inner musings out on paper while the sun struggles to get out of bed, last night's dreams forming the foundation for today's profound writings. Throughout my day, I am constantly scribbling onto scrap papers; jotting down ideas spurned in the moment, inspired by some passing bird or stranger's smile. Writing is a way for me to open my heart to the world, share wisdom, and leave a legacy.

My works have been featured in poetry journals, conservation websites, and in newsletters for local organizations. I am currently working on my first novel, as well as illustrating and writing a children's book.

I am inspired by my favorite writers: Juliet Marillier, Louise Erdrich, Brian Jacques, Tristan Gooley, Robin Wall Kimmerer, Michael Pollan, Richard Powers, Robert MacFarlane, Mary Oliver, Eckhart Tolle, and Linda Hogan. Thank you to my old friends Emilee and Delaney for inspiring me to write, and to Left Bank Books in Belfast, Maine for being a great source of literary inspiration and encouragement. And most of all, thank you to my husband for listening to endless hours of my spur-of-the-moment ideas and complicated plotlines.
